About PVD Code & Coffee!

A little bit about who we are and what we do.

What we do

We are the Providence chapter for the community-led meetup for devs to get together and professionally grow! Join us as at our events where we share projects, ideas, stories, and of course, coffee. From complete novices to industry professionals with years of experience, everyone is welcome here as we foster an environment focused on the community.

Event Structure

Introductions

Our events start with the organizers introducing everyone to Code & Coffee, followed by some quick announcements. As our community is still small, we usually do quick round table introductions so everyone can get to know each other a little better.

Featured Presentation

If there's a featured presentation lined up at an event, that will be the main item on the agenda that day, taking up 30-90 minutes. We welcome presentations from anyone in the community! The topic can vary, so long as it's related to tech in some way.

Additional Presentations & Showcases

The projector will be available for anyone who wants to share something they're working on, something interesting they found, a tool that might be useful for everyone, etc.

Socializing & Networking

The rest of the time is open for people to talk, hangout, work on projects, network, anything!

Guidelines & Principles

1. Start Where You Are

Whether you’re building full-stack apps or still figuring out how to delete a branch on git—there’s room for you here.

2. Teach What You Know, Learn What You Don’t

Everyone who walks in has something worth sharing. Be generous with what you know, and open to what you don’t.

3. Build Bridges, Not Walls

Tech should bring people together. We’re here to share tools, ideas, and our time.

4. Keep It Honest

We value consistency and real growth over performative hustle. No posturing—just progress.

5. Casual ≠ Careless

Our space is laid-back, but we take presence seriously. Show up as you are, and stay engaged.

6. Let It Be Fun

Learning should feel good. Celebrate progress, laugh at bugs, and build things that make you—and others—smile.
